Grown Ups (2010)

The three actors I chose from this comedy are Chris Rock, Kevin James and Adam Sandler.

I classified Adam Sandler as a wildcard actor because he is always playing a movie role that pushes him to the limit in this scene he can easily go from one topic to another with out taking a breath. I think this goes to show what universal actor he is.

In this scene Kevin James is the first to jump on the rope attempt to swing it to the lake but as he looks out over the water he gets scared and crash into a tree and falls. Once he gets up he grabs a broken branch acts like it’s his broken bone, which is example of a interpreter actor because he put a lot of extra comedy in to that scene make it his own.

Chris Rock is interpreter actor because everything he does you can feel the inner comedian shine through he’s acting. In this scene the facial features he makes towards the 4 year old boy still breast feeding are even funnier then what he says about it. This scene would be even funnier in real life because of the child age and the reaction what the mother would society because normally a child is breast feed up until one years old.

In the movie Jack and Jill Adam Sandler plays a double role, where he is playing his own twin, that happens to be a female. This film shows that no matter what the role is Adam can deliver. I would say no he would not be place in the same category because he is such a versatile actor. He could also could be label as interpreter actor because everything he does he knows how to put a personal spin on it as if he thought of it himself.

Love Jones

Love Jones (1997)

” Dialogue is the conversation between characters in a drama or narrative” (the free dictionary. com) ” Sound Effects artificially created or enhanced sounds, or sound processes used to emphasize artistic or other content of films, television shows, live performance, animation, video games music or other media” ( Wikipedia).” Music background music is used to add emotion and rhythm to a film. usually not meant to be noticeable, it often provides a tone or an emotional attitude toward the story and or the characters depicted. In addition, background music often for shadows a change in mood” (Film sound.org). The dialogue is used through the entire movie whenever the cast interact with each other. the side effects are used whenever something dramatic or intense happens in the movie. Music is mostly used when the cast are at the bar reading their poetry. The impact of sound in establishing the themes is  important because it shows the audience what type of movie it’s going to be. For example, when you hear hard scary music it’s probably because its a horror movie, or a nice romantic melody could be a sad scene is coming up or something romantic. For this scene the music is slow and sensual which is used to get the audience in the mood for a romantic or sexual encounter. I would say with the combinations of music this movie could be classified as a romantic comedy genre, because at times they’re laughing and other times they’re more serious. I would say this film uses realistic and expected sound effects because the music matches each scene that is currently being played. The scene i chose would have sounded different had the band been playing heavy metal or rap music as he recited his poem. The poem was meant to be romantic, and that style of music would have messed it up.

Love and Basketball

The movie I chose is Love and Basketball, which is about two best friends who love the game of basketball and eventually realize they also love each other. I would say this film is used with low key lighting for this specific scene, because they are outside which shows a low level of light and very deep shadows, which is the definition of low key lighting, Since this scene is supposed to be some form of Drama I believe using this form of lighting was a good choice. It helps you realize that the up coming scene is not meant to be a happy and joyful part of the movie. For this particular scene I think the lighting suited the genre like it was supposed to, because if any other style was used the scene may have seemed to bright and it would not have looked right.

All About the Benjamins Blog

http://www.imdb.com/video/screenplay/vi2914320665/

Writers: Ronald Long, and Ice Cube

Major Actors: Ice Cube, Mike Epps, Eva Mendes, Roger Guenveur, Carmen Chaplin, and Tommy Flanagan

Released:2002

The movie I have chose is All About The Benjamins. The two main stars are Ice Cube and Mike Epps. The movie is about a bounty hunter named Bucum played by Ice Cube, who’s trying to catch Reggie whom skipped bail, played by Mike Epps. Reggie ends up in a deserted warehouse where he witness a diamond heist in action. After so long they put their differences aside to team up and catch the bad guys, and retrieve Reggie’s lost wallet, which had a winning lottery ticket in it. The film presented chronologically, which I believe helps the audience go along with the movie. If this was done in any other way I do no believe the movie would not have been as successful as it was. I remember one part in the movie that showed a form of foreshadowing was when Bucum’s co-worker gave him a fish she pick up for him that he bought. Right after this scene it shows Bucum placing the fish on the car dashboard before getting out. Since the movie is based in Miami we all knew what would happen to the fish when he got back to the car, the fish was dead.

week 4 blog

The film I would be picking is Bad Boys 2

The first actor is Martin Lawrence, Stylized Acting

The second actor is Will Smith, Stylized Acting

The third actor is Gabrielle Union, Realism

I have pick Stylized Acting for Martin Lawrence because in the definition he gets people attention from the comedy stuff he do and how he reacts in some scene. Stylized Acting I pick for Will Smith he also grab people attention because he can play a good actor of anything he can do, he is real funny he can be funny and serious too. Gabrielle Union I pick for is realism because I don’t think she gran that many people attention because you don’t see her in enough movies.

I have pick Will Smith and Stylized Acting I think he would stay in that category, because he is a good actor and people like him in movies. I think he can play any role he can be funny sometimes or he can be serious or he can be romantic.

Blog week 3

The movie I picked is Drumline. I think the sound of the movie was good because you can here the different instruments of the band and the movement. I would say the mood would be intense because they were in a battle to see what school was the best. It is realistic and expected because the instrument are real. The sound would change if there was one drum because it wouldn’t be as dramatic. To me it would be the equivalent to someone listening to a song on the radio, because you don’t feel apart of the action.

Bad Boys 2

I would say the movie Bad Boys 2 is a high key lighting. The high key lighting shows the shadows in the scene.

I think the benefit is the high lighting you can see everyone in the movie.

The technique of the movie is it took place at the home of Martin and the lighting was good.

The high key lighting was good they could have use low key lighting in some scene.
